The live-long day
Walking on Islay is one of life's finest pleasures. Unspoiled, unfenced landscapes teeming with wildlife and the day to day workings of island life. Try going 'down' to the Oa Peninsula, parking at Lower Killeyan, to see the American monument, the RSPB bird sanctuary and the cliffs. Or perhaps walk further north to see the Soldier's Rock and the choughs. Of course no matter where you go will be the sea, ever changing with its own special inhabitants; from seals to sea eagles and the occasional boatsman, hauling in his lobster creels or line of fish. Islay, timeless but ever changing.
